team Manchester United is facing a lawsuit. The reason for the lawsuit is an
incident that occurred on March 9, 2018, when Manchester United accidentally
issued a document containing personal information of 167 temporary employees.
The information included names, addresses, social security numbers, income, and
tax certificates. This document was inadvertently sent to various departments
within Manchester United, including catering, hotels, museums, tourism
operations, and sales departments. As a result, the private information was
made public. The affected employees, whose personal information was leaked,
have collectively filed a lawsuit against Manchester United. They are seeking
compensation from the High Court based on grounds of personal information
protection. They argue that the leaked information could be exploited by
criminals for financial fraud. While Manchester United has acknowledged its
mistake, there has been no announcement regarding compensation, leading to
dissatisfaction among the individuals whose information was compromised.
