Sports News] According to reports from British media, Chelsea is currently in
the process of recruiting a new medical director and is willing to offer a
salary of up to £250,000. The club has faced significant injury issues throughout
the season, with several players currently in the recovery phase, including
Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Colwill, Roméo Lavia, and Christopher Nkunku, among
others. Since the new owner took charge in May 2022, there have been notable
changes in Chelsea’s medical department. Several long-serving medical staff
members have resigned, including Dimitrios Kalogiannidis, the former medical
director with 14 years of service, Thierry Laurent with 17 years of service,
and Paco Biosca with 11 years of service. It is reported that Chelsea is
actively seeking a replacement for Dimitrios Kalogiannidis and is offering a
salary of £250,000 for the position. The new medical director will be
responsible for assessing injuries, devising rehabilitation plans, and overseeing
the medical examinations of new players during the upcoming summer transfer
window. It would be interesting to know the opinions of Chelsea fans regarding
this development.
