[Saba Sports News] During the Denver Nuggets’ heavy loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6, coach Michael Malone pulled Nikola Jokic early, with about ten minutes left.
Jokic briefly sat on the bench but spent most of his time standing, maintaining a serious demeanor. When asked why postgame, Jokic explained he stood to “stay warm for a post-game workout.”
Observers might speculate that his decision to stand was also a reaction to the team’s performance. The Nuggets, needing a win to advance to the Western Conference Finals, were instead routed 115-70, marking the franchise’s worst playoff loss.
Despite Jokic’s 22 points and 9 rebounds, the rest of the team struggled significantly, with players other than Jokic shooting a dismal 17-67.
This loss forced a decisive Game 7, where Jokic will need significant support from teammates like Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. to secure a win.
