[Saba Sports News] Jimmy Butler might not return to the Miami Heat next season, and one interesting team could be interested in acquiring the veteran forward.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors would have some interest in Butler if he were to become available. The Warriors are expected to be aggressive this offseason and may consider shaking up their core after failing to make the playoffs.
Whether Butler fits with the Warriors is another matter. The Heat have hinted at concerns about Butler’s durability, which could make him available. However, acquiring Butler would require a substantial trade package and taking on his max contract, which could be challenging for the Warriors, especially if they let Klay Thompson walk in free agency.
The Warriors face a tough situation as Steph Curry and Draymond Green age, and Thompson struggled last season. Adding another veteran like Butler might not resolve their issues, but the Warriors seem open to significant changes.
Butler played in 60 games for the Heat last season, averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.
