[Saba Sports News] The NBA’s most recognizable face has paid tribute to the late Jerry West.
West passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 86. Shortly after the Los Angeles Clippers announced the news, LeBron James posted a tribute on X, calling West a “mentor.”
“My mentor, my friend! Hopefully, I continue to make you proud! You’re already missed!” James wrote. West, who played all 14 seasons of his Hall of Fame career with the Lakers, influenced LeBron and countless other NBA stars. West’s legacy with the Lakers is unmatched, contributing to seven championships (one as a player and six as an executive).
Despite West’s past criticism of the Lakers’ signing of LeBron, James clearly held him in high regard.
