[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, UEFA is investigating Serbian fans for discriminating against English players. Reports claim that England players were subjected to racist abuse during their 1-0 win over Serbia. However, no complaints were made by England. UEFA confirmed that an ethics and disciplinary ombudsman would investigate the alleged discriminatory behavior by Serbian fans, a process expected to take several weeks. Additionally, Serbia has been formally charged with two counts: unfurling a banner that “sends a provocative message unfit for a sporting event” and throwing objects in the stadium. In November last year, during Serbia’s victory over Montenegro, Serbian fans racially abused each other, leading to a fine and a partially empty stadium for the European Championship qualification match against Bulgaria.
