[Saba Sports News] British media outlets report that the victorious team in the European Championship stands to gain a maximum reward of €28.25 million under the competition’s prize distribution scheme. The total prize pool shared among all participating squads amounts to €331 million. Each of the 24 European Championship contenders will initially be granted €9.25 million. Moreover, bonuses are accrued based on teams’ in-tournament achievements. Specifically, each victory in the group stage fetches €1 million, whereas a draw earns €500,000 per team. Advancement to the round of 16 brings an extra €1.5 million, with quarter-finalists collecting an additional €2.5 million. Semi-finalists are awarded €4 million more, runners-up receive a supplementary €5 million, and the champions secure an extra €8 million, culminating in a potential total of €28.25 million. Notably, the French Football Federation intends to allocate 30% of the prize money to the team. Consequently, should the French squad emerge as champions, each player could pocket up to €297,368.
