[Saba Sports News] Zach LaVine’s West Coast dreams may still be alive.
Matt Moore of Action Network reported that the Sacramento Kings have been in talks with the Chicago Bulls about acquiring two-time All-Star guard LaVine. Chicago guard Alex Caruso has also been discussed. Sacramento is reportedly offering Harrison Barnes, Kevin Huerter, and draft picks as part of their trade package.
LaVine, 29, is entering the third year of a five-year, $215.2 million contract with the Bulls. However, he had a down season in 2023-24, averaging 19.5 points and 3.9 assists per game—his lowest since 2017-18—and ended his season in February due to right foot surgery.
Despite his recent struggles, LaVine, along with the two-time All-Defensive selection Caruso, remains a valuable trade asset for the Bulls, who are coming off their second straight sub-.500 season.
The Kings, who finished 46-36, need more backcourt depth alongside De’Aaron Fox, especially with Malik Monk becoming a free agent. It remains to be seen if a package of Barnes, Huerter, and picks would entice the Bulls, but Chicago appears increasingly eager to trade LaVine.
