[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Rodrigo Bentancur’s alleged racist remarks about Son Heung-min have sparked controversy, leading to an investigation by the Football Association. In a previous interview, a reporter asked Bentancur if he could swap jerseys with his Korean teammate. Bentancur replied: “Son Heung-Min?” When the reporter asked about other players, Bentancur added: “Or any of Son Heung-min’s cousins, they all look alike!” His comments were deemed discriminatory, provoking outrage in Korean society and beyond. Kick It Out, an organization combating racism in sports, reported receiving multiple complaints and has forwarded them to the relevant authorities and Bentancur’s club. The Football Association is also investigating and may take disciplinary action against the Uruguayan international.
