Germany had already qualified early after winning their first two group games. Germany started the game exactly as they had in the previous two games, with Manuel Neuer in front of goal and Antonio Rudiger and Jonathan Tah in the middle, Max Mittelstadt and Joshua Kimmich are on opposite sides of the divide. Midfielder Toni Kroos was brought up behind Anderich, Ilkay Gundoğan was in front, Hafts was in the centre up front, and Musiala and Florian Wirtz were on either side.
For Switzerland, Yann Sommer, Manuel Akanji and Granit Xhaka form a central axis in the starting lineup, with Breel Embolo, a former Bundesliga player, at center.
