(sabasports report)Erik ten Hag is close to agreeing a new two-year contract with Manchester United, adding to his existing one-year deal that will keep him in charge until 2027. The 54-year-old Dutchman’s New Deal will be worth £27m and leave him on the same income as his current deal. Talks on a contract extension began after Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS decided to keep Erik ten Hag in his role. An agreement has been reached in principle, leaving his salary unchanged at £9m and his agent is in the process of finalisation of the terms with United, which is expected to be confirmed this week.

Part of the new agreement includes a shake-up of United’s coaching staff, with former Red Devils striker Ruud van Nistelrooy set to return as part of Erik ten Hag‘s backroom team. In addition, Erik ten Hag needs to agree with Ratcliffe on the distribution of transfer powers.
With Erik ten Hag‘s contract almost complete, the club will go into buying and selling mode in July. United’s non-international players will return for pre-season training on July 8, with the team scheduled to play their first pre-season game against Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway, on July 15, before travelling to Edinburgh to face Glasgow Rangers on July 20. Starting on July 24, Erik ten Hag will fly the team to the United States for training and warm-up games against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool.
