(sabasports report)Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who won the Dutch Cup and Dutch Super Cup with PSV Eindhoven after his retirement, could use the offer to raise money for other potential employers, the Manchester Evening News reported. Championship side Burnley approached Van Nistelrooy in the summer, but it was previously reported that Van Nistelrooy was considering a return to Manchester United as manager Erik ten Hag’s assistant. United fans are excited to see the star return to the club.

However, it all sounds too good to be true that Van Nistelrooy would rather give up his managerial role and return to United as an assistant manager. The Manchester Evening News points out that Van Nistelrooy may simply be taking advantage of United’s interest to inflate his market value in order to secure better signing terms when negotiating with Burnley or other potential clubs. The jury is still out, but United fans should be prepared for a disappointing outcome.
