[Saba Sports News] Newly appointed Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick is facing controversy early in his tenure. Shortly after his introduction, where he notably used strong language, allegations surfaced from Halleemah Nash, who attended Duke University with Redick. Nash claimed on X that Redick used a racial slur against her while she was working with the basketball team. Her post detailing the incident has garnered over 15 million views.
In response to these serious allegations, Redick’s representative firmly denied the claims to TMZ Sports, stating, “No, it never happened.”
Redick, a prominent figure during his time at Duke from 2003 to 2006, was well-known both for his standout performance and as a divisive player among fans. In his senior year, he averaged 26.8 points per game and set a record for the most three-pointers in college basketball, a record that stood until 2019.
