[Saba Sports News] In the third round of Group E in the European Championship, Belgium drew 0-0 with Ukraine and secured qualification as the group’s runners-up. However, a discordant scene unfolded after the game. Belgian fans, dissatisfied with the team’s performance, expressed their discontent, leading the Belgian team captain Kevin de Bruyne to instruct his teammates to leave the field without saying goodbye. Some Belgian media outlets argue that De Bruyne does not exhibit the qualities of a qualified captain. While the boos from the Belgian fans may be understandable, as they did not react negatively after the team’s loss in the first game of the European Championship and even created a supportive atmosphere in the second game, De Bruyne’s reaction at the final whistle was perplexing. He appeared visibly angry and frustrated, opting to leave the field, which is unlikely to appease the fans’ anger. As they prepare to face France in the upcoming round of 16, the Belgian team’s top star does not seem to be acting as a captain should.
