[Saba Sports News] Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, a two-time NBA champion, is set to take on a veteran role with a younger team in pursuit of his third title.
According to multiple reports, Caldwell-Pope will sign a three-year, $66 million deal with the Orlando Magic, with the third year being a player option.
After spending the last two seasons with the Denver Nuggets, Caldwell-Pope declined a $15.4 million option to test free agency. His decision paid off financially, securing an average annual salary of $22 million.
Known as a 3-and-D wing, Caldwell-Pope brings significant value and experience to the Magic, who are aiming to build on their 47-35 season and playoff appearance. His presence is expected to elevate the team’s performance both on and off the court.
Last season, Caldwell-Pope started 76 games for Denver, averaging 10.1 points per game and shooting 40.6 percent from three-point range.
