(sabasports report)Lamine Yamal will wear the No. 19 shirt for the Barcelona first team during the 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona has announced.
The number 19 is also Yamal’s number for the Spanish national team. Last season, Yamal wore the number 27 jersey of Barcelona. No. 19 was previously owned by Roque, who will be given a new number, Barca officials said.
In the history of Barcelona, The No. 19 shirt has been worn by Lionel Messi, Patrick Kluivert, Maxwell, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sergio Aguero Aguero), Ferran Torres and others.
In the 2023-24 season, Yamal played 37 games for Barcelona’s first team, contributing five goals and eight assists. Yamal was named Young Player of the tournament after a stellar performance in helping Spain win the European Championship this summer.
