(sabasports report)According to the daily sport, Barcelona’s new season shirt bearing the name of Yamal is selling well, and Yamal’s agent Mendes has asked Barcelona to pay him more.

Yamal’s current wages at Barca are much lower than those of Lewandowski, De Jong and the like. He signed his first professional contract with Barcelona last year, just after turning 16, which included a 1 billion euro release clause. The contract is only allowed to be signed for three seasons (through the summer of 2026). In addition, there is a private agreement between Barca and Yamal, which stipulates that the two sides will extend the contract until 2030 after it expires in 2026, and give Yamal a pay rise.
Barca president Laporta has received Mendes’ request and is expected to put a pay rise on the agenda and does not rule out an early extension for Yamal. Barcelona have precedent in this regard, having changed Messi’s contract five times to keep him when he was 22.
