Embiid quickly took the spotlight, showing off his juggling skills and attempting an ‘around-the-world’ trick.
Embiid is a big soccer fan, often tweeting about games, especially his favorite team, Real Madrid. Soccer is also the primary sport in his native Cameroon, home to legends like Samuel Eto’o and Roger Milla.
Despite representing Team USA at the Olympics, Embiid has a deep love for Cameroon. He recently turned down an offer to play for the French national team, citing France’s historical relationship with Cameroon, including its colonial past.
Anthony Davis, one of the NBA’s most gifted athletes, displayed his natural ease with the soccer ball, even though he hasn’t expressed much interest in the sport.
For now, Team USA remains focused on basketball, aiming for their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Paris Olympics and their 11th straight podium finish.
