[Saba Sports News] LeBron James got a souvenir during Team USA’s Olympic victory over Brazil.
Team USA advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday with a dominant 122-87 win over Brazil. Despite the easy win, James’ left eye told a different story.
In the third quarter, Los Angeles Lakers star James took an accidental elbow above his eye from Brazil’s Georginho de Paula while anticipating a rebound. James, standing under the basket, was hit by the airborne de Paula.
James immediately dropped to the court in pain and left the game to go to the locker room. He returned to the bench with a visible wound above his eye but did not re-enter the game as Team USA was already up by 23 points and won by 35. After the game, James reassured reporters he was fine.
James finished with nine points, three assists, and two blocks in his 17 minutes of play. He is expected to be ready for Team USA’s next game on Thursday against Nikola Jokic and Serbia in the semifinal round.
