[Saba Sports News] Draymond Green didn’t hold back on Thursday during the Olympic men’s basketball semifinal when Team USA nearly suffered an upset against Serbia.
Despite being heavily favored, the U.S. team trailed by as much as 17 points and entered the fourth quarter down by 13. A late rally, led by Steph Curry, ultimately secured a 95-91 win, setting up a gold medal showdown with France on Saturday.
While watching the game, Green, live-posting on X, appeared to criticize head coach Steve Kerr, who is also his longtime coach with the Golden State Warriors.
“Sometimes you have to scrap them rotations,” Green wrote, referencing Kerr’s gameplan. Kerr’s decisions drew criticism, especially for benching Jayson Tatum and giving minimal playing time to Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, and Derrick White, despite the team’s defensive struggles.
Green’s comments echoed the thoughts of many fans as they watched the U.S. team struggle. To secure gold against France, Team USA will need a more cohesive strategy, starting with Kerr’s decision-making, which has been questioned throughout the Olympic tournament.
