[Saba Sports News] After missing 106 games over the last two seasons due to injuries, LaMelo Ball is taking matters into his own hands.
The Charlotte Hornets star was recently seen wearing ankle braces during an offseason practice at the team facility. This change comes after Ball missed most of last season with another ankle injury.
Despite being an All-Star at just 22, Ball’s struggle to stay healthy has hindered his progress in his four NBA seasons. He fractured his ankle in February 2023, ending his 2022-23 season, and earlier suffered a severe sprain to the same ankle in November, which sidelined him for a significant portion of the season.
The former No. 3 overall pick previously mentioned that he hadn’t worn ankle braces because he couldn’t find anything comfortable enough to play in.
But now, it seems Ball is giving them a serious try—a positive development for both him and the Hornets, especially after his massive contract extension last year.
