According to Spanish media, FIFA is seeking funds to eliminate concerns surrounding the tournament’s organization. Reports suggest that many clubs have been operating under an unrealistic assumption that participation alone would bring €50 million in earnings. This is far from reality. Such an amount would require a starting fund of €1.6 billion, which is unimaginable compared to the bonuses from the national team World Cup. In the last World Cup, champions Argentina only received €44 million in Doha. The current plan is for prize money distribution to be unequal, with European clubs receiving the largest share due to sporting and commercial reasons, as they provide the most star players. FIFA officials are seeking €2 billion in funding, including for image and commercial rights, to support the event, which they hope will become a fixture in the global football calendar, a goal for all clubs, top players, and fans worldwide.
