[Saba Sports News] Led by Japeth Aguilar and Justin Brownlee, Barangay Ginebra notted its first consecutive win in the PBA Governor’s Cup. On Friday, they beat Phoenix Super LPG 110-101, followed by a 119-91 thrashing of NLEX in their previous game.

Aguilar scored a game-high 31 points and Brownlee had a triple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Held at the Ninoy Aquino Coliseum, Gin Kings won over Fuel Masters and finished the first-round group stage with a 3-2 record.
Despite trailing 24-25 in the first quarter, Ginebra rallied to 57-46 at halftime and held off the Phoenix in the second half. In the end, Gin Kings tied San Miguel Beermen’s record for second place in Group B behind Rain or Shine, who currently leads the team with 4-1 wins. Fuel Masters, on the other hand, are still without a win in five starts.
New aid Stephen Holt had a strong game, contributing 19 points, 10 of which came in the third quarter, while draft pick RJ Abarrientos added 16 points, 10 of which came in the first half.
