“We want to make the playoffs, but first we need to deal with our current opponent, Trefilma,” Convige coach Franco Atienza said before the 7:30 kickoff. They look to pick up their fourth win to stay in the group’s top three (6-1 TNT, 5-2 Melaco, 4-3 Magnolia).
Convige is 3-4 and looking for another win, while Trefilma, without a win in seven games, is in existential danger. Entering the game, Antonio Hester and his Treferma teammates came close to winning their first game, but lost to Magnolia 98-99 in the final minutes.
For Trefilma, which is 0-7, coach Johnedel Cardel and his team must win all of their next three games to keep their playoff hopes intact.
