The 42-year-old Filipino-American star returned to the Philippines this week, immediately reuniting with old friends and former teammates. One of the important plans for his return, of course, is to meet the entire Barangay Ginebra beer team again. He calls the Philippines “my home,” so his return means a lot to him.
Dwanes hopes to meet the Kings fans who once supported him when the Balanga King Brewers take on the NLEX Road Warriors on Sunday and is looking forward to feeling the fervour at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“I can’t wait to see the Brewers fans on Sunday. It’s going to be great. Hopefully they’ll still welcome me back with open arms, “said the 6-foot-7 former player, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 PBA draft by Rain or Shine.
