Jones hit three four-pointers in the decisive moments of the Road Warriors’ 103-99 win over Barangay Ginebra Kings in Sunday’s match at the Smart Aranetta Stadium, which helped the team advance to the quarter-finals of the PBA Governor’s Cup.
“I’ve been shooting from that distance a lot of my career,” Jones said. It’s nice to get an award for that shot now. It’s a lot of fun and gets the audience excited. It’s something I need to get used to.”
Jones added 44 points, including 6 of 4 on four-point field goal attempts, and added 10 rebounds in a double-double performance.
An NBA veteran, Jones has spent the past six years playing in Asia, including in the Japan B League alongside former NLEX star Kiefer Ravena with the Shiga Lakes. He believes the four-point shot is undoubtedly a game changer for any team that competes in the PBA.
