[Saba Sports News] Jaylen Brown is gearing up to launch his own sneaker brand, 741, ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. After winning the NBA Finals MVP, Brown reportedly turned down over $50 million in endorsement offers from major sneaker companies to pursue his own venture.
He explained his decision, emphasizing the importance of creativity and ownership for the next generation of athletes.
“The understanding of ownership and value is what’s important for the next generation of athletes,” Brown said. “It’s time to think differently… create new ideas and more value for athletes, consumers, employees, and the communities that support them.”
The name “741” holds personal significance for Brown, representing spiritual awakening, hard work, and new beginnings. Brown also shared that Kobe Bryant, who had plans to start his own sneaker brand before his passing, inspired him to take this entrepreneurial step.
Set to launch on October 22, 2024, the same day as the NBA season opener, Brown is expected to debut the 741 sneakers on the court. Pre-orders are available now, though details are limited, with one colorway currently known. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
