The two teams could not have been more different in their path to the last eight, with TNT riding high to easily secure the first spot and top the rankings, while NLEX was the last team to qualify.
However, under the new group format, defending champions TNT are on the same starting line as breakthrough hungry NLEX in this round of the series, which kicks off at 5pm.
“They’re going to give us a lot of trouble,” TNT coach Chot Reyes said. “They have Berto Bolick and a very good outside recruit (DeQuan Jones). So we have to be well prepared.”
He added: “At this stage we have to be highly prepared and sharp because the schedule is three games a week.”
