[Saba Sports News] German prosecutors have charged three men with extorting the family of Michael Schumacher. According to The Guardian, a 53-year-old man from Wuppertal threatened to release private photos and videos of Schumacher unless his family paid him 15 million euros. The other two accused individuals include one who worked as a security guard for the Schumacher family until 2021 and the son of the main suspect. The case originated in June this year when Schumacher’s family was asked for money during a phone call with an employee. The Guardian speculates that the main suspect could face up to 15 years in prison because he threatened to leak the photos if his demands were not met. His 30-year-old son has been charged as an accomplice for helping his father create an untraceable email address. Seven-time F1 world champion Schumacher has not made any public appearances since suffering brain injuries in a skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013. In September 2014, Schumacher was brought home, and since then, his condition has been kept private by his family.
