[Saba Sports News] Starting this week, Formula 1 fans have become anxious as the exciting season is set to take another break after a few weeks of summer hiatus. The summer break has always been a familiar concept for F1 fans, with races typically halting from late July until late August. However, this season’s second break has surprised many, as there is a long wait between last week’s Singapore Grand Prix and the US Grand Prix in Austin on October 20. The FIA stated that the reason for this is F1’s desire to group more races together based on geographical location to reduce carbon emissions. This strategy has led to some events being moved from their traditional schedules. For example, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been moved from its usual May slot to September, while the Japanese Grand Prix has been moved up from autumn to April. Additionally, the Qatar race will be the second-to-last event of this season, followed closely by the Abu Dhabi race. Due to the late decision regarding the rescheduling of the Japanese Grand Prix, other races could not be rearranged because factors such as each country’s climate and contractual agreements needed consideration, leaving no room for flexibility. Moving up the US Grand Prix was also deemed unfeasible as it is part of a series with Mexico and Brazil. Various factors have led to this season’s F1 having a second break. However, unlike the mandatory 14-day summer break, teams are not required to shut down their facilities during this current break.
