The 6-7 Arana emphasized that by pushing the mighty San Miguel Beermen to their limits, FiberXers proved they have what it takes to compete against the league’s top powerplays. This confidence and competitiveness has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the team.
Of course, San Miguel, with his rich experience and calm performance, managed to secure a place in the final semi-finals with a 109-105 win in the do-or-die battle at the Janares Sports Centre in Antipolo.
“Our mindset was to prove everyone wrong,” Arana says. After all, no one expected us to come this far, no one expected us to come this far. Even though we lost the conference and the series, we still took a lot of positives and learned a lot.”
