[Saba Sports News] Stephen Holt acknowledged that Barangay Ginebra was driven by revenge in its opening bout with San Miguel. Ever since the Beermen handed the Kings their worst loss in franchise history, they’ve been itching to get back on their feet.

Holt said: “We did use the loss as motivation, but we knew it wasn’t representative of our true strength and style. In the end, that became our motivation.” The sophomore guard was referring to the group stage of the PBA Governors Cup, where the Kings suffered a crushing loss to the Beermen by a huge margin of 49 points (131-82).
As a result, the Kings’ players entered the first game of the best-of-seven semifinal series in high gear.
Justine Brownlee was a standout, shooting 5 of 6 from beyond the arc and scoring 33 points. Stephen Holt added a career-high 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting to help his team get revenge in a 122-105 victory Wednesday at Philsports Arena.
