[Saba Sports News] During Monday’s game at the American Airlines Center, the Dallas Mavericks’ JumboTron operator made an unusual mistake. The Mavericks faced a defeat against the top-ranking Boston Celtics, with a final score of 119-110. A highlight of the game was Celtics’ Jaylen Brown’s impressive move against Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic, where Brown executed a sharp right-to-left pullback, causing Doncic to stumble, and then hit an elbow jumper.
Surprisingly, this moment was replayed on the Mavericks’ home arena JumboTron, a decision that did not sit well with Mavericks players Tim Hardaway Jr. and Markieff Morris. Hardaway, reportedly upset, questioned, “Are we home or are we away?” as noted by Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
While the replay of Brown’s ankle-breaking move was undoubtedly impressive, its showcase in the Mavericks’ home arena was not well-received. It remains unclear whether the operator was simply caught up in the excitement of the moment. Regardless, it’s seen as a humorous blunder.
The Mavericks are currently experiencing a rough patch, having lost four of their last six games, dropping to eighth place in the Western Conference with a 24-19 record. This incident adds to a series of in-arena hiccups the Dallas team has faced this season.
