[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United will continue to cut operational costs, and the club has suspended Alex Ferguson’s contract as the global ambassador, no longer paying him over £2 million annually. Additionally, under the club’s new regulations, Ferguson is no longer allowed to enter the Manchester United dressing room after matches, breaking a tradition that has been in place since the Sir Matt Busby era. However, Manchester United denied that they directly prohibited Ferguson from entering the dressing room, stating that there is now a “collective consensus” on who can enter. For decades, access to the Manchester United dressing room has been part of the club’s culture. Ferguson and other members of the football committee, such as David Gill and Mike Ederson, have always been welcome, as were the late Bobby Charlton and former director Maurice Watkins. During his 26 years at Manchester United, Ferguson won 38 trophies and signed an agreement to continue as the club’s global ambassador and director after retiring in 2013. In the financial report of 2014, Manchester United revealed that the 82-year-old Ferguson received £2.16 million for his services.
