[Saba Sports News] McLaren’s reserve driver Gabriel Bortoleto has impressed with his performances in Formula 2 and Formula 3 races and is considered one of the candidates for a seat at Alfa Romeo F1 Team next year. At a media conference during the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen praised Bortoleto in front of reporters, stating that if he were the team principal of Alfa Romeo, he would immediately sign this young Brazilian driver and believes Bortoleto deserves an F1 seat. Australian driver Oscar Piastri fully agrees with Verstappen’s view, stating that Bortoleto won the F3 championship as a rookie last year and is now leading in F2. When a driver achieves such results, they should participate in F1 races. Piastri also shared his feelings about having been a reserve driver in F1 and personally experiencing the pain of not having a seat, hoping that Bortoleto would not have to go through such experiences.
