[Saba Sports News] India is eagerly anticipating the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir, set to occur in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22. The event has generated widespread enthusiasm, especially with several notable personalities, including eminent cricketers, expected to attend. Recently, former Indian cricketer and coach Anil Kumble, along with his wife, was seen in Lucknow, the state capital.
Kumble, a celebrated leg spinner, arrived at Lucknow Airport today, warmly greeting people with ‘Namaste’. Meanwhile, former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad is already in Ayodhya, actively sharing updates and his excitement about the ceremony, which he described as an ‘event of a lifetime’, through photographs on social media.
In addition to Kumble and Prasad, the event has attracted other cricketing legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, and Gautam Gambhir. Current Indian cricket stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, as well as Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, have also been invited.
Among these, Virat Kohli is likely to make an appearance. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has reportedly granted him permission to attend. Currently in Hyderabad for the upcoming Test series against England, Kohli is expected to visit Ayodhya and return by January 23 to rejoin the team for the Test series starting on January 25.
