[Saba Sports News] The NBA season is barely a month in, but Zion Williamson is already facing another extended absence due to injury.
Williamson strained his hamstring and is out indefinitely, with an evaluation “in the coming weeks,” per Shams Charania of ESPN. Now in his sixth NBA season, staying healthy continues to be a struggle.
Despite efforts to improve his conditioning, Williamson’s durability issues persist. He played 70 games last season, a rare high point in his injury-plagued career.
In six games this season, Williamson was averaging 22.7 points and 8.0 rebounds. The Pelicans, already struggling, fell to 3-7 after losing without him on Friday.
