home stadium. During the game, fans from both teams engaged in a protest by
throwing a significant amount of golden-coin chocolates into the stadium. The
protest was organized by the fans of the home team, Cologne, as a response to
the German Football Association’s decision to allow foreign investors to invest
in the league. The Cologne fans started the protest by throwing golden-coin
chocolates onto the field. Following their actions, it was the turn of the
Dortmund fans to participate in the protest. Both sets of fans expressed their
discontent by shouting derogatory remarks towards the German Football
Association, while throwing chocolates onto the field. As a result, stadium
staff had to intervene and bring buckets to clean up the debris thrown by the
fans. Even the players on the field joined in the cleanup efforts. The game was
forced to pause for a significant amount of time due to the protest. In the
end, Dortmund emerged victorious with a 4-0 away win against Cologne, securing
their second consecutive league victory. As of now, Dortmund are positioned
fifth in the Bundesliga standings with 33 points, while Cologne are in the 17th
spot with 11 points.
