[Saba Sports News]Brazilian Tarso Marques, who teamed up with Fernando Alonso at Minardi F1 in 2001 and remains on good terms with him, recently gave an interview. When asked who the best current driver is, Marques highly praised Alonso, stating that the Spanish driver is “better” than Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, and Max Verstappen. Records show that Alonso won the annual championship in 2005 and 2006 by defeating Schumacher. Marques remarked that while it’s difficult to compare drivers from different eras, he believes Alonso is a more stable F1 driver than Senna and others. He stated that Alonso deserves a number of championships that match his skill level, but unfortunately has not found the right car for himself. Currently, Alonso has stood on the podium 106 times in 398 F1 Grand Prix races, including 32 victories.
