[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and other officials traveled multiple times on a £20 million private jet during this year’s European Championship, despite having previously urged participating teams to minimize air travel for climate change reasons. In March, UEFA launched a carbon footprint calculator and released a sustainability report last week, boasting a 75% reduction in flights for national football associations during the European Championship compared to the 2016 event. For the 2024 European Championship, 90% of staff will use public transport within Germany, significantly lowering local and national travel costs during the event. However, UEFA’s report did not address how President Ceferin and other officials obtained and used a 12-seat Bombardier Challenger 604 private jet. It is reported that Ceferin used this jet to travel between Ljubljana, Slovenia, and various cities in Germany during the tournament. Additionally, the jet flew 16 times between June 15 and July 9, including a 14-minute flight between Düsseldorf and Dortmund on June 18, a distance that could be covered by car in less than an hour. What do you think about this, fans?
