[Saba Sports News] Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, has been invited to the Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. The 34-year-old joins other cricketers, including Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin, at this highly anticipated event. Former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni are also among the invitees, as the event garners national attention.
Reports suggest Virat Kohli, with BCCI’s permission, is likely to attend. The Indian cricket team is currently in Hyderabad preparing for their Test series against England, starting January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Kohli plans to participate in a practice session on January 21 before attending the ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other notable figures like Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, and Ratan Tata are expected to attend. Pran Pratishtha involves consecrating a deity in a temple, with the main rituals led by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit on January 22.
The Vedic rituals began on January 16, and the temple will open to the public from January 23. The installation of Ram Lalla’s 51-inch idol, crafted by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, occurred on January 19, drawing significant attention on social media.
