[Saba Sports News] According to UK media reports, as the sole bidder for the 2034 World Cup, Saudi Arabia has begun construction on a $1 billion stadium in Qiddiya, on the outskirts of the capital Riyadh. This stadium is set to become one of the most unique in the world, located 650 feet above ground. The stadium, designed by Manchester United architects Populous, will feature an exterior made of a series of modular cubes, extending from the Tuwaiq cliffs to form a massive digital canvas. The stadium will have three tiers, with one side open to provide stunning views of the city. Below the stands, there will be a lake to collect rainwater for the air conditioning system. If the stadium is pushed back, it will reveal a space for various events, including music concerts, drone competitions, and e-sports. Additionally, there will be a retractable roof and a digital wall, allowing the pitch to switch from natural grass to artificial turf at the push of a button. The Neom Stadium, with a capacity of 46,000, will be accessible via high-speed elevators and cars, allowing players to exit their hotel rooms and take an elevator to the locker room 350 meters above ground without the need for team buses.
