[Saba Sports News] The Denver Nuggets brought an end to the Boston Celtics’ historic home winning streak in a closely contested 102-100 game. The Celtics, who had a remarkable 20-0 start at home this season, a franchise record, saw their streak halted at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Their run of 27 consecutive home victories dated back to the previous season.
In the game’s final moments, with the Nuggets leading by two and only 4.9 seconds left, Celtics’ All-Star Jayson Tatum missed a midrange shot that could have sent the game into overtime.
Earlier, the Celtics had a chance to continue their streak when they were down by just one point. Tatum, in a transition play, missed a layup after briefly losing control of the ball.
Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ two-time MVP, showcased his skills with a stellar performance, recording 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists while shooting 14/22. Jamal Murray was even more efficient, scoring 35 points with a 15/21 shooting record.
The matchup between the Celtics and Nuggets was highly competitive, hinting at a potential NBA Finals preview considering the talent on both teams.
