[Saba Sports News] The 2024 BWF World Tour Finals will kick off in China from December 11 to 15, with a spotlight on the total prize pool reaching 2.5 million. The singles champion will receive a prize of 200,000, while the doubles champion will receive 210,000, and the runners−up in five categories will earn 100,000. Even if a singles player finishes last in the group stage, they will still receive 15,000, and doubles players will get 17,500. Only the top eight players or pairs based on accumulated points from the year’s World Tour events will qualify to participate, with a maximum of 64 top athletes from around the world competing. Although the prize money in badminton is not as high compared to other sports, the year-end finals’ prize money is relatively significant in the badminton field. The BWF year-end finals, as an important event in international badminton, not only attracts the world’s top players but also continuously enhances its influence and appeal, contributing positively to the development of badminton.
