[Saba Sports News] The Philadelphia 76ers provided an update Thursday on Paul George, who suffered a hyperextended left knee during Wednesday night’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
George sustained the injury after colliding with an opponent while going for a rebound. Fortunately, an MRI revealed no structural damage. The Sixers announced that the 34-year-old forward will miss two games and then be re-evaluated.
This is not George’s first issue with his left knee this season. A similar injury in the preseason sidelined him for the first five games of the year. So far, George has played in just eight games, averaging 14.9 points on 38.3% shooting.
In his first season with Philadelphia after five years with the Clippers, George’s limited availability coincides with a tough start for the 76ers, who are 2-12.
