[Saba Sports News] Malaysian badminton mixed doubles star Tan Kian Meng married on December 1, with friends from the badminton community, including Ong Yew Sin, Loh Kean Yew, Goh Soon Huat, Shevon Jemie Lai, Goh Szefei, and Low Juan Shen, attending the ceremony. Records show that Tan proposed to his wife, Zing Chang, on November 26, 2022, and they registered as a legal couple on this year’s Qixi Festival. However, due to Tan’s busy schedule participating in the BWF tour, the wedding was postponed until December 1. The 30-year-old Tan originally played singles but switched to doubles in August 2014, partnering with Lai Pei Jing for mixed doubles. They won a bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and another bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Their best achievement in the BWF tour was winning the Super 500-level Korea Open in 2022, and their mixed doubles world ranking reached as high as 5th on December 20, 2022.
