Sports News] According to reports from British media, three Manchester United
fans were arrested by the police for chanting slogans related to the
Hillsborough disaster. The incident took place before a Premier League match
between the two rival clubs on December 18. The fans were heading to the
stadium when they engaged in the offensive behavior. The Merseyside Police
disclosed that two men, aged 21 and 20, from Somerset, as well as a 25-year-old
man from Gloucestershire, were arrested. Following an investigation, the three
fans were released pending a decision on prosecution. The Merseyside Police
emphasized that the behavior of these individuals does not reflect the
sentiments of the majority of fans from both clubs. They urged anyone who
witnesses such illegal behavior to report it to the police, assuring that
appropriate action will be taken. It is deeply unfortunate and disrespectful
that individuals would use derogatory language related to such a tragic
incident, and their actions have been met with deserved consequences.
