[Saba Sports News] The Red Bull F1 Team announced a mutual termination of its contract with Mexican driver Sergio Perez, ending their four-season partnership. Regarding Perez’s future, British motorsport media has put forth five speculations. The first speculation is retirement. Statistics show that Perez has participated in 281 races, is approaching 35 years of age, and has four children at home. Considering the global nature of the sport, he might choose a quiet life rather than another racing adventure, so retiring would not be an unexpected choice. The second speculation is that he could become a global ambassador for Red Bull Racing. Both Daniel Ricciardo and David Coulthard have shown what life as a Red Bull ambassador looks like. If Perez wants to continue racing without the pressures of F1, this might be a path he chooses. The third possibility is joining another F1 team. Perez remains one of Mexico’s most popular sports figures, and Cadillac Racing has confirmed it will enter F1 in 2026, currently in urgent need of an experienced F1 driver. The fourth possibility is joining another racing series. Perez has not participated in any other racing series since 2010, and if he wants to try something new, IndyCar seems to be an ideal choice since it is close to Mexico. The fifth possibility is becoming a reserve driver for Red Bull. If Perez really wants to return to F1 in 2026, he might follow the logic of Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas and become a reserve driver to stay in the sport and remind others that he is still around.
