[Saba Sports News] Jalen Brunson couldn’t hide his disbelief on Thursday after being snubbed by his former New York Knicks teammate, Julius Randle.
The Knicks cruised to a 133-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center in Minneapolis, marking the first meeting between the two teams since their blockbuster offseason trade.
After the game, Randle reportedly avoided Brunson and his former Knicks teammates, showing no signs of reconciliation. A video surfaced on social media Friday showing Brunson looking toward the Timberwolves’ tunnel after the final buzzer. In the clip, Brunson appeared to ask a Knicks staffer, “He left?” signaling his surprise at Randle’s abrupt exit.
Randle delivered a solid performance despite the Timberwolves’ loss, posting 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting, along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Meanwhile, Brunson contributed 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting for the Knicks.
While Randle had expressed optimism about his trade to Minnesota before the season, it seems he’s not ready to mend fences with the Knicks just yet.
The trade also sent former Knicks fan favorite Donte DiVincenzo to the Timberwolves in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns. DiVincenzo similarly made headlines earlier in the preseason after a heated exchange with Jalen’s father, Rick Brunson.
