Subsequently, local media published articles criticizing Rooney, stating that he lacks coaching experience and is insufficiently prepared for complex match situations and team management issues. Unlike those coaches who have taken time to learn and gain experience before becoming head coaches, Rooney entered this role too early and has not fully mastered the skills required for coaching. Following his time at Plymouth, people speculate that it will be challenging for Rooney to get another opportunity. Even with his bright name, his combined four coaching experiences do not present an attractive resume. If he is determined to try coaching again, he may need to drop to a lower league or go abroad, but that doesn’t seem appealing.
